Across the Ocean is dedicated to meeting the basic and creative needs of orphans
living throughout the world. HATO accomplishes its mission by donating
a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of:
(1) international travel medical kits designed for individuals
and families on their international adoption journey,
(2) family tradition kits created for families wanting
to establish meaningful life-long traditions, and
(3) multicultural referral and announcement cards.

Your purchase of one of the first three kit(s) noted above helps your family in its adoption journey – including traveling to and from your child's birth country, and providing necessary health care to your child when overseas.
Once
you are home, the adoption announcements proudly share the good news with
family and friends; and the Family Tradition/Family Night Kits help you
establish meaningful, life-long traditions so important when starting
and expanding your family.
Projects
that Help Orphans Throughout the World
A
percentage of your purchase is combined with donations from others –
individuals, corporations, and foundations – to help meet the basic
and creative needs of orphans living throughout the world. Several projects
have been identified for 2003:
Warm Clothes-Warm Hearts – provides warm clothing for children living in orphanages without heat.
I'm Proud to be Me – provides orphans and children in need with a container of their own art supplies and a scrapbook.
Sponsor-a-Nanny – provides funding to hire and train nannies who hold and play with 3-5 babies in a Chinese orphanage.
Big Sisters Project – provides older girls, who are orphaned and living in a Chinese orphanage, with remedial tutoring, middle school tuition, music, computer, language, and vocational training.
Teach Me! I Want to Learn – funds local and global programs that guide youth as they develop life and creative skills. During 2003, donations support sending a volunteer to Thonburi, Thailand to initiate and implement a life skills camp as well as teach arts and crafts to low-income children in schools and at community centers.
